Kidz Kamp Video

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

I hate that I missed our Kidz Kamp this year. I heard a lot of great things. Here is a video highlight from this past week. I am grateful for all of the volunteers who sacrificed their time to serve. Also want to give a BIG SHOUT OUT to FBC Dublin for all their help last week. We could NOT done it without you. GREAT JOB!

Powerplant at Capstone

Thursday, July 9th, 2009

Powerplant is an organization that connects middle and high school students with church plants throughout the country. The Upstate had the largest Powerplant Camp with over 160 students helping numerous church plants in South Carolina.

Capstone was lucky enough to have a group here in Fountain Inn helping us impact our community.  Our group was from Montgomery, Alabama and they worked their tails off helping with some major projects at the building.  Later in the afternoon they helped with our Capstone Summer Kamp at Woodside Park.  Our Summer Kamp was filled with our Pebble Beachers, Camp Rockers and children from the surrounding neighborhoods and apartments. It was a great week filled with games, crafts, songs, Bible stories, and tons of fun.  We could not have done it without our friends from Alabama.  Also thanks to all our Capstone family who came out each day to help.

Success: Community Impact

Monday, May 18th, 2009

Our vision at Capstone redefines success in church.  A lot of the time churches measure success by the “3 Bs” - Butts, Budgets and Buildings.  We don’t want our numbers at a service be how we say Capstone is being successful.  The way we measure success is by transformation and impact.

Saturday Capstone stepped up in a huge way to impact our city.  Several months ago the Chamber of Commerce came up with the idea of a city wide community clean up day.  They called all organizations, churches and residents to rally together to clean up Fountain Inn.  Since Capstone wants to make our city a better place to live, we saw this as a huge way we could show our city we were serious about making an impact.

This past Saturday 40 people showed up for Fountain Inn’s Spring Clean Blitz.  Out of the 40 - 30 of those were from Capstone.  Those who organized this clean up will be talking about that new church who showed for along time.  Hopefully our city and community leaders will see that Capstone is more than just talk when it comes to Impact.

The proof is the work I do in my Father’s name.  John 10:22

Thank You for those of you who came to be salt and light in our community.

Fountain Inn Elementary TLC

Monday, May 11th, 2009

Several people have asked how Teacher Appreciation at Fountain Inn Elementary went.  It was a HUGE success.  We had several ways that we showered some TLC on some much deserved teachers.

Monday - Homemade Cookies in their box
Wednesday - A Starbucks Coffee bar also tubs full of waters and diet cokes
Friday - A small hand painted clay pot with a flower waiting on their desk.

We have heard from a couple of teachers who said it was such a blessings for Capstone to do what we did.  Thank You for everyone to pitched in to help with this community project.  We pray to continue to make an impact and gain influence in our city.

Teacher Appreciation Week

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week at Fountain Inn Elementary.  As a key instituation for our community we have partnered with FI Elementary and asked the principle if we can say “Thank You” to the men and women who pour into our children’s lives everyday.  We have several surprises for our teachers next week.

One of the surprises will be some sweets in their box.  We are asking for Capstoners to make some fresh made cookies (no oreo or chips ahoy) on Saturday Night and place a few in a ziplock bags.  Then bring your sweet treats this Sunday Morning to Capstone.

We have several other TOP SECRET things we can’t put on the blog for next week.  But if you would like to help with the preparing or delivering for Teacher Appreciation Week please email Laura Barrineau at laura@capstonechurch.net
