Sunday was a GREAT DAY at Capstone Church. Earlier in the summer we said the church doesn’t CELEBRATE enough. This past Sunday Capstone Celebrated together as a family and community of Faith. We had 9 folks get Dunk’d as they made an outward expression of an inward decision. It was awesome to see these individuals, families, couples, and children testify to the transformation than Christ is doing in their lives.
Afterwards the “Stoners” tailgated in the parking lot. Our theory is that if we get together with random strangers on Saturdays to celebrate a team of players we don’t even know. We should be even more excited as we witness our family following Christ example through the waters of baptism. We had lots of grills cooking, plenty of watermelon, and tons of celebrating.
Powerplant is an organization that connects middle and high school students with church plants throughout the country. The Upstate had the largest Powerplant Camp with over 160 students helping numerous church plants in South Carolina.
Capstone was lucky enough to have a group here in Fountain Inn helping us impact our community. Our group was from Montgomery, Alabama and they worked their tails off helping with some major projects at the building. Later in the afternoon they helped with our Capstone Summer Kamp at Woodside Park. Our Summer Kamp was filled with our Pebble Beachers, Camp Rockers and children from the surrounding neighborhoods and apartments. It was a great week filled with games, crafts, songs, Bible stories, and tons of fun. We could not have done it without our friends from Alabama. Also thanks to all our Capstone family who came out each day to help.

Even though half of South Carolina was at the beach, we had a great Sunday at Capstone. We looked at the Great Commission and Christ final words to his followers. The local church too often stares at each other wondering what we should be doing. We read lots of books, and go to conferences looking for the answer to what we should be about - when it is written in red.
Matthew 28:19-20
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
This week’s message was a preseason pep talk to get us ready for the fall and focus on who we are to be. Looking at Matthew 28 we saw that we should be about to two things:
Go - Don’t wait on the lost to stumble into church. Go and find them where they are. (Luke 7:34)
Make Disciples - How? Baptism and Teaching them the ways of Christ

This week at Capstone we ended our One Prayer Series. Our final One Prayer Message was from John Burke from Gateway Church in Austin, Texas. John’s message was called “God is FOR YOU.” It is amazing how many people forget that Christ didn’t come for the healthy but the sick. God didn’t send Christ to condemn the world, but save it. We heard great truths that God want us to fail, but longs for us to be found. Scripture shows that God is already working in the lives of the lost and striving to bring them closer to Him. Our jobs as Christ followers is prepare the soil and make sure the soil is furtil because we don’t cause people to grow only God does.
